JJ's radio show

Last night I was browsing some Carl Verheyen stuff on youtube... well guess who was on a recent edition of Oscar Jordan's radio show?  I know it has probably been discussed numerous times, but I don't know how to search with the new format... how can you access JJ's old radio shows?  I'd like to hear the Verheyen one.

Oscar, did he play any guitar on your show?

I interviewed Carl last week, and yes he did bring his guitar.  He is the coolest of the cool and we got into a lot of stuff.  All the shows can be heard for free on iTunes.

Here's what's happening on today's episode.

Friday at 2pm PST unlock the mysteries of Pete Thorn's (Melissa EtheridgeChris Cornell, Don Henley) amazing pedal board on Oscar's Guitar Shop. Also hear the actual voice of pedal guru Analog Mike in one action packed episode.

The show can be downloaded the next day for free on iTunes here:

Under the podcast section look for “Oscar's Guitar Shop” and Subscribe to get the new show every week, plus download archived shows.

Re: JJ's radio show

Now you have got Pete Thorn on there?  I will have to reinstall i-Tunes.  I have been using spotify since my computer crashed.  I definitely want to check it out.  5pm est is a little hard for me to be online.. I am thankful for the i-tunes download.

http://www.latalkradio.com/Oscar.php    I think you can listen to old episodes there, too.  My work computer streams slow though... so I'm not positive.

True.  I posted that here before, but of course forumites whined because it wasn't available on iTunes.  Now they can just shut up and listen.

Re: JJ's radio show

I have been on a big Verheyen kick recently.  I'm on the fence about getting his dvds, but will probably end up doing it.  It was funny... I was on youtube and you came up with him.  He actually responds to comments, which is pretty cool.  One of his comments was about his buddy Jon Finn, who post frequently on the Lesson Left section of HC.  Phil X is the only other guy I have seen that responds to youtube comments.

Carl is a superb professional player, and also has a lot of funny stories. His book Studio City, a compilation of all his GTFM columns, is a great read.

It's Oscar's Guitar Shop not Jeff's Guitar Shop.  I worked hard on coming up with the name dammit.

Dr. Mark Von Wein was a guest caller along with my old Chicago homie Mickey T.  Good times.  They both asked stimulating questions.

It was fun calling in.  I was actually in the middle of a recording session this afternoon so I didn't actually get to listen to any of the show.  I'll get it off iTunes in the morning. :smileyhappy:

You fail at kindly.  I'm not fat.  I work out all the time.  Pete is a pencil.  He's actually underweight, ergo the comparison.

I just added a Duncan Distortion in the bridge.  Truly awesome.

I'm sure but whatever you do, don't get rid of the old Yamaha pickup!

Incidentally, I USED to have a 2000 and I'm currently the proud owner of an '81 SBG1000...outstanding guitar and, while it's a fair substitute, it's not the same without the sustain block and thru-neck.

Re: JJ's radio show

Great interviews with Carl Verheyen and Pete Thorn.  Whose up next?  I feel Phil X around the corner... he's LA based and just released a new Drills album.
