Totally agree. I just returned after a long lay off and returned to this. Not very friendly and disorganized. Is there no amp forum anymore? I'm a bit lost

well.....i just got this laptop a year ago....it came with IE7....and i'm NOT changing it because HC is fucked up

No? How about these reasons:
IE7 is seriously slow. Modern browsers are not only faster at opening sites but also rendering them, especially any sites that are heavy on Javascript (Facebook etc)
IE7 does not support many modern web technologies. This means that sites will render incorrectly, may function incorrectly and above all just won't have the same features.
IE7 is full of bugs and not a secure or safe browser. It's an easy target for every malicious website.
Oh and the color scheme? It's horrible. It has at least 3 or 4 different colors just for links and none of them gel with the user interface. Whoever designed this thing is as blind as a bat.
