It won't let me confirm my e-mail address/user.

Well, it's not so bad, def will take some getting used to. My only gripe is the ad on the right-hand side makes the width uncomfortable to read. I'm also noticing as I type this that the wrap around length is longer than the actual text box I'm typing into. That's a little annoying. Hopefully it's more stable.
Again though, that ad.... can't we just have headers and footers and keep the forum full-width?

why did the format have to changed for the site to be fixed?
This is like those sites you find when you look up home appliance repair.

This. The text basically takes up only 2/3 of the width. I can adjust to this too.
Phil:
Also , I haven't fully read the thread, but is there any news if this new format will feature a mobile app?

Yes, Lithium suppords mobile devices, and apparently without an app. Their ad bit about their mobile features can be viewed here:

I have found at least one issue with it on my iPad - I can't find any way to quote a post. Other than that, I can see things and navigate relatively easily on my new iPad Mini. I have not had time to really try it since the launch on my iPhone though.

BTW, there's an official "Feedback" forum / thread running. If you want to let the powers that be know what your opinions are, and make suggestions regarding how the layout or design could be improved over the coming days, that's the best spot to do so:
You can continue to discuss things here too of course, but the Lithium and senior HC people are far more likely to see your comments over there.

Why didn't we just upgrade to the latest vBulletin? I've been on a lot of forumns that run great with vBulletin, why does HC completely **bleep** the bed on choosing a platform?

I can't tell what part of this is a quote, from whom, and where your message ends, and where your sig begins.

1. Non-stop complaints about new forum
2. Defensive posts by moderators saying 'give it time.'
3.Some improvments made but not enough to overcome major design issues.
4.Increasingly defensive posts by moderators, site designers and, eventually stuffed shirt from MF.
5.Massive drop in traffic.
6.MF realizes they've seriously messed things up.
7.Capitulation and return to some sort of vbb.
Seriously. It worked great last time.
