Welcome to the new digs. :)

[ Edited ]

Hi everyone. Yes, it's a bit different, but hey, it seems to actually function, and things don't take forever to post... that alone makes this a big improvement IMO.

Look around, get the feel for it, and let me know if you have any questions or issues. I'm getting the hang of it all right alongside you, so we'll work through this together. Please have patience if you try to contact me or have a request - I'm bound to be extra busy as we launch. Custom titles are going to be waaaay down on the priority list - in fact, they're curtailed for the time being, so please don't ask. Once the site is stable and things calm down a bit, we'll see about getting those going for everyone again, but while it seems to be possible to do, it's a manual process and I'm going to be tied up with other stuff for a bit - the new forum launch, as well as NAMM next week, etc.

If you do have a problem, please do let me know! Stuff like login issues, problems resetting your passwords, etc. Any funky site performance issues that you notice (we're hoping there won't be any...), again, please let me know.

The report this post is in the lower left of each post. The options menu in the upper right is where you edit your posts, subscribe to the RSS feed, bookmark it, etc. etc. etc.

Thanks for you patience - we know this isn't going to be perfect right out of the gate, but we're going to continue working on getting everything refined and working out the bugs until it feels as comfortable to everyone as an old pair of jeans. :smileyhappy:

PS Yes, we know that the text needs to be darker for better readability - we've already put in a request to have that done.

Also, for a great overview of the basics of the new forum software, be sure to check out Craig's video on the front page of the site at http://acapella.harmony-central.com/

Re: Welcome to the new digs. :)

I can only post by quick reply. When I tried to edit my post or make a new thread or click reply it says something about invalid html or something. Oh, and I don't remember what email address I used when I signed up so was forced to make an alt. Please don't ban me... again. And sorry about that whole thing yesterday.

Posting seems to be broken as has been said, but this isn't near as bad as 2.0. Apparently we have RSS now which is awesome.

We fear change for the worse I think. It's early days, I'm holding out judgement. I wanted to quote you Elessar but I can't see how?

Re: Welcome to the new digs. :)

Yes, you need to reset your passwords. No, a mod can't do it for you unfortunately. If you can hang on until tomorrow, I may have more info for you on that - we may be able to change your email address of record so your reset info will arrive in the right mailbox.

We also seem to be having some random issues with the smut filter, and I've been logged off once or twice, but not in the past several minutes, which means it might have just been while they were changing the servers over or something. We'll definitely keep an eye on that one.

You would hit reply, then quote on the full editing page. Unfortunately that seems to be borked. I am going to try a different browser.**bleep**br>**bleep**br>I don't mind this really at all. Themes would be cool, or maybe a little less contrast?

Just testing the image posting. You can upload from your computer (as I did here) by hitting reply, then hitting the insert / edit image icon at the top of the text entry box.

Browse allows you to upload from your own computer. From Another Site (right below browse) allows you to enter the URL from a third site (hotlinking). I'm going to try that in just a moment in another post.

Re: Welcome to the new digs. :)

Okay, I'm going to try to insert an image I took and uploaded to Photobucket...

test image

You have to hit the "tree" icon (insert / edit image - two to the right of the emoticon / smiley icon), then hit From Another Site and enter in the DIRECT URL to the image - you DON'T  want to use IMG code - this isn't vBulletin. However, you can probably switch over to the html tab and enter HTML code if you're so inclined. I didn't try it that way yet - I want to make sure this (direct link insertion) works first...
