Also it would be nice to turn avatar display off. They just clutter up the screen for me.

How the **bleep** do you quote on this thing ?Hit the reply button immediately beneath the post you wish to quote.
At the top of the text box, in the upper right hand corner is a blue box that says "quote" - hit that, and it will enter the quote into the rich text post box.
Unfortunately, there's currently no multi-quote. Hope we can get that in place eventually. It's already been brought up.
Yeah, that's much easier than just having a quote button. One button functionality is vastly overrated anyways.

Also, how the hell do you quote?
That's completely **bleep** retarded. As is the sideways scroll in the reply box.
EDIT: Seriously? Goddamñ is censored? Is this site being marketed to 5 year olds?

Phil or anyone...
How do we navigate to the Open Jam Forum?
Thanks.

It's way too cramped.
Between the graphics background on the left and right side of the page and all different seacrh methods, there is no room for the important thing... The content. It's a discussion forum, it's about the discussion. Not the how cool it looks or the 100 different ways to find things.
"Top Tags"? Who cares. Waste of screen space.
"New Solutions"? Who cares. Waste of screen space.
"Kudos"? Who cares. Waste of screen space.
Meanwhile the thread titles are crammed in a 13 character column, I have to Ctrl(+) to get rid of the margins and all the things that used to be simple are now difficult.
It seems like there were no lessons learned from 2.0. I see a lot of the same issues being repeated here. Just with a different background.

I wish that the actual content/ body of posts was more set apart somehow from both the thread title and the poster info on the left. As it is there is no divider for me and it makes it hard to follow the actual original content of a thread.
The word wrap when writing a post is messed up.
And I have a weird piece of javascript getting stuck onto the tail end of all my posts?
<script type="text/javascript">// onbeforeunload = function() {}; // </script>
<script type="text/javascript">// onbeforeunload = function() {}; // </script>01-17-2013 08:15 AM

Some helpful hints to using the new format.....
*The SIDE BARS are easily fixed with basic browser functions [Ctrl] [+] keys = zoom in. [Ctrl] [-] keys = zoom out.
*Edit a post via 'Options' and 'Edit Reply.'

* I believe you can post a YouTube video by cutting and pasting the link between...

That enlarges the font too, which isn't really a solution.

Indeed, our avatars are now so small that they're irrelevant, and near unidentifiable. Those are our characters and our personalities, Harmony Central - and you've reduced them to nothing.

Thanks. I like the kudos and the multi-quote that are available.
OK. So forget the multi-quote. That's the button to give someone kudos. I get the problem with scrolling, too. Need multi-quote!

It's all in the INTERFACE The user interface is sloppy as all hell. If I formatted an email at work like this I would get people **bleep** off at me. I'm in my early 20's and program/work with computers all day and this site hurts my eyes. I'm used to looking at source code in command prompt and this is hard to work with for me.
It's really not that difficult to make a site look organized, where the important information is in the forefront. To have what you want to read clear and easy to see. To be able to actually know where you are, and know what you've looked at. The text is all over the place, there is no shading in terms of knowing what line you were just reading, it's a complete mess.
I get all the hard (under the hood stuff) is done and seems to be working well (aside from my acount being deleted) and that's great because it did not run well before. But all that doesn't mean anything unless people like the GUI. It all comes down to the end user and what they like to spend their time interacting with.
If you want some constructive feedback, make this site readable, change the layout/design, make it easy to browse and follow.
I've been on this site for years, I work in this field so I understand the challenges of this type of switchover, but it absolutely blows my mind that people who design forums have absolutely no eye or sense of what makes something nice to look at. Making a layout pleasing to the eye and easy to follow is not something that is very difficult to do. Stop getting computer programmers to design the look of your sites and hire someone with some sense to give this place a makeover.
I'm sorry to be harsh, I'm only trying to give some constructive feedback. Though some people may find this layout "fresh" it definately is hard to follow.

The lighter blue background is horrible for long-term reading; it needs a ton more shadow to be "functional".
The ad tiles that sometimes appear on the right side of the forum should be moved to outside of the main page area into the background area.
I understand you need to sell and display ads, so, moving them off the page and into the background space works just the same...in fact you can go two ads or more at a time that way.
