Suggestion: make text links obvious

[ Edited ]

How many people missed the fact that the feedback link on the landing page was a link for a second?

How about if the feedback link is in a headline or bolded text?

[And how many missed the two links immediately above?]

Well, now imagine putting a link in a paragraph with the default font settings (which on my system means bold is only barely distinguishable from normal text).

Either make them a different color or put an underline under them.

Links that don't look like links may look "cool" to some designer right out of school, but in terms of usability, they are Total Fail.

The chorus seems a little weak... I think it needs more lasers.

Another one of my requests prior to launch. Keep 'em coming. They'll listen to a consensus.

There are now eight music videos posted on my YouTube channel, including a cover of "We Gotta Get Out of This Place," which joins "Little Pieces", "Black Market Daydreams," and "When the Grid Goes Down" (complete with disturbing video )

Re: Suggestion: make text links obvious

I totally agree.

Craig, one problem with this feedback forum is that it seems like disorganized data overload and not enough consensus, and so we're going to end up with analysis paralysis.  I bet I could come up with 10 to 15 changes that would come pretty close to consensus, and I bet I could prioritize them in a way that makes some sense.  Is there some way to circulate a forum-wide poll (i.e. one that would appear in all sub-fora like an accouncement in the old VB forum)?  It may make some sense to just put up a poll and let people vote.  Then at least the data would be manageable and appear as an actual consensus.  How does that strike you?

It's hard to face the truth, but I suppose you yourself realize that if you'd had just a little more courage, just a little more strength of character, you could have been dead by now. No such luck.

Re: Suggestion: make text links obvious

Yup - IMHO, links should be clearly differentiated - blue or red text for a hyperlink is fairly standard. The current links are much too easy to overlook.

I'd quote Craig, but don't seem to be able to, but I can...

I'd quote Craig, but don't seem to be able to, but I can not believe you pointed out the links issue before launch and they still left it. That does not inspire confidence that the forums will ever be functional on this platform.
Cause sometimes the rhetoric don't go with the contents
