This is a thread to test the Spoiler functionality.
I think this just showed up...gotta try it out.
Phil/Craig, you can delete this as of 3:30 PM, PST...I'll be done in a few minutes.
EDIT: well, It's 3:25 and I'm not done. I've been trying to document findings over in the other "Spoiler Test Results" thread, but I won't have all this stuff over there by then....also, the guys at GC/Lithium may want to see the stuff I was doing interactively...maybe, don't delete it for a day?

Simpler Spoiler
01-20-2013 02:23 PM - edited 01-20-2013 02:49 PM
Empty Spoiler
RESULT: empty spoiler was sensed and nothing put in the post-body...reasonable/expected.
Second line/edit, to test to see if it hangs again.

Spoiler with picture
01-20-2013 02:42 PM - edited 01-20-2013 02:45 PM
Spoiler with a picture and the picture disappears from the user-defined path
Result = Big red X
Note, it looks like this system is caching copies of the pics, not pointing to the original source.
I bolluxed the path by manually typing incorrect stuff in the HTML-view.

Spoiler with a quote (oh lord, do I even want to do this?)
RESULT: Hit the quote button, the cursor focused jumped up the the OP, and no quote placed in the Spolier-edit box...no spoiler created.
Not really sure what I expected here...but I can imagine someone wanting to have a spolier open up a favorite quote they stole from somewhere in the thread....def low priority, if it's even a bug.

Spoiler where I've dragged the definition box bigger....will this make the multi-line spoiler?
Case 1: make spoiler, drag it bigger (vert), then type in multiline text.
RESULT: This worked well...the text just line-wrapped like a champ. I did not try line wrapping BEYOND the size of the box...guess I have a third testcase to try also...gotta make a new 'reply' for that one.
Case 2: make spoiler, drag it bigger. Type in a single line, then <cr> then type more. I expect a single Spoiler box with multiple lines, and not multiple spoiler boxes.
RESULT: the <cr> resulted in a second Spoiler bos...unexpected. ALSO, the second spoiler box's inferior-most edge (uh, "bottom edge", for non-medical people...sorry) extended BEYOND the graphics for the Rich Text edit window....VERY unexpected...I didn't try to grab it and move it...Don't want to de-reference any outta-range variables.

Spoiler with larger window, case 3
Define the spoiler, stretch the window down, then type more linewrap text than will fit.
Should also be tested with a huge cut-n-paste, I guess....heavy sigh...
RESULT:
I made a 4-line box and typed 7 lines in, all line-wrapped. The 'excess' typing is showed up outside the grey'd area of the box. Very unexpected interactive reaction...I wasn't sure if the spoiler was going to pick up everything I typed. in the one box. It did, but as a naive user, I'd probably be pretty worried. In the general case, I think there are going to be quite a few UNEXPECTED results for these boxes, as they must be pre-defined to a larger-than-initiated size to accept multiline text...they will take all you type (even more than the size of the box) but they do cram it all in. Upon editing the post, the spolier box was properly resized to hold all the text that was typed.

Testcase for interactive abuse of the spoilerbox corners.
muwahahahahahahahaha !!!!
RESULTS: pretty boring, as would be expected....ok.

It's just kicking me back to the top of the OP whenever I click on any of those spoiler boxes. Definitely something Lithium needs to look into. Thanks for all your efforts Doc!

The opening issue is just one bug (most likely)...there are about 3-4 others in the written comments which document issues when trying to CREATE the Spoilers, some (like the create-a-new-Spoiler box whenever you hit the <cr> are pretty ugly too.

We got a reply regarding the opening of spoilers bug. It's a known bug that affects certain tags. If those are removed or altered, then CSS may get messed up. It's apparently been fixed in the new version of forum software, which we're on the priority upgrade list for.

I've seen Spoilers that work properly in other Lithium-based forums. I can't remember which one, sorry. It may have been the Playstation one, as I wandered around in it for a while.
It sounds like either that forum's developer found a workaround using the existing CSS, or the problem isn't what they think it is. Whatever the source, I've seen Spoilers work just fine in Lithium-based fotum settings.
...still trying to think of how CSS and tags interplay...Are these the user-defineable Tags that were pulled out of our forums' implementation?
