My opinion: 4 brief points

[ Edited ]

1. On my laptop the first thing I see when loading a forum section is:

banner ad

logo then setup stuff

more menu

announcements

I have to actually scroll down to get to the section with threads. Total suck.

2. Unless I make the text really big the next thing I see after having scrolled down is about only half of the width taken up by the actual threads. The rest is comprised by completely useless "desktop wallpaper" that nobody needs, as well as yet another ad.

3. This stupid box I'm typing in now is scrollable horizontally. Why on earth would that be convenient? As I type this word it auto-scrolls so that the beginning of the sentence moves out of view. And then when it goes down a line it doesn't automatically return to the very beginning of the line but to the third character. And, of course, I now can't see the right side of my sentences. Who the hell designs something like this?

4. I miss the ability to type to create italics, for bold etc. I can live without it, but I miss it.

Generally this is an incredibly ugly forum to me, in the sense that it's not easy to find what one is looking for. It seems to me to be just another case of people making "improvements" that people perhaps didn't ask for, and then they turn out to be **bleep** because, well, people weren't asked about it or the programmers or decision makers weren't the brightest. As far as I recall the only critique I saw was about the forum running poorly.

My review on the update is -1 of 10.
