When posting an image, it would seem that you cannot type underneath the image; the image is fixed at the bottom of the post. I believe you should be able to post an image and then type underneath that image, or though unchecked, post a second image.
Also, when importing an image from another website, i.e. Photobucket, you cannot import the image if it is larger than the display area, but you can if you upload directly from your computer and allow the template to scale the image. Your baby here; how much disk space do you want to devote to uploaded images versus linked images.

I'm having a problem posting a picture from another site. I get the message "This external URL does not contain an image."
The URL does contain an image.

Hell, I can't even figure out HOW to post an image.
Any image!
I successfully posted one in the Claudia Black thread, but my choice in women was mocked so I won't be sharing any of that knowledge.

Click the picture button (basically looks the same as the old forum) than you can either click "browse" to upload from your comp or click "from another site" and enter the url. I actually like the ability to upload directly. It's kind of a pain having to put an image title in though.

I agree.
Right now you must upload into the form. Perhaps this is the system's way of pre-checking image sources before 'Sources From Forbidden Sites' get loaded? I heard reference to not wanting images/links from websites that are marked as undesireable by Guugle.
Or perhaps it is a 'feature' that allows you to dbl-ck your images link before posting (to minimize re-X-syndrome? but hey, if you go tthere via a browser?...why the need for a dbl-chk?
Personally, i think it's coding method to limit the number of pic posted, thereby speeding bandwidth due to fewer pics being loaded.... but then again I'm a suspicious peacock.

I'm not able to use images available on the web, either.
I tried both a publicly available image from my Photobucket account (I used to use it to host images on the old board) as well as an image from one of my own sites -- no go!
Let's see if I can use HTML mode to insert the raw HTML code for an image...
Well... that seems to have worked.
As a web professional, my services are available at reasonable rates for coding image inserts into pages here. Rates available on request.
Just kidding.
