Sorry to hear that Greg. You've been a fantastic contributor, and we'd hate to see you go...
I'd like to ask you to reconsider, and to give us a little time, and to be patient for a week or so, but after HC 2.0 and the software company that I probably hate above all others, plus the past year's lack of IT support for the vB forums, I can understand why you guys are frustrated and fed up. But I really do think that we are going to be able to make this software work in the long run. They are already being far more responsive than the HC 2.0 software vendor was. The smut filter has been adjusted (or shut off - not sure which), the word wrap issue in the rich text box has been fixed, Cool Jam is restored... we're definitely listening to everyone's feedback in the Feedback forum and trying to adjust things to YOUR tastes.
So if you guys do leave for a while, again, I understand, but please do me a favor. Stop back in and see what's up in two or three weeks. If you give it a look then with a fair and open mind, I think you'll see it's a lot better than it is today, and that it's much better than a vB forum that's locked up half the time, slow in responding, etc.
Whatever you decide, it's been a real pleasure reading your posts and hanging out with you Greg. You're definitely one of the good guys.

Yaaay!HC has to note that people is trying hard to actually use the forum, in spite of the new changes. Really, nobody tested it before launch? Didn't learn anything from 2.0?
I'm out. I have been here daily since 2008. Will come back in a few weeks to see if something changes, but at this point the forum is just not usable. Sorry.
Unfortunately, we didn't test it as much as we had originally envisioned. I've been saying that since before the launch. Our intention originally was to have all the mods, plus several of you guys go through it and do all of what we're doing now (finding the "issues", refining the look and feel, working out the bugs, polishing the UI, etc.) behind the scenes before launch.
Unfortunately, the "performance" of the old site was degrading so badly that it was next to impossible for many people to use, so the decision was made to launch this early - that way, we'd at least have software that allowed you to post, didn't time out, etc.
IMO, it was the best of two bad choices.
On the upside, this way allows everyone to be involved in the refinement process and to give their input via the Feedback forum. We (and the grapic design and and Lithium teams) ARE listening, and many of the requested things are starting to happen. The rich text editor bug is fixed, quotes are working right (although we're still pushing Lithium to consider adding multiquote to their functionality), the smut filter has been turned off or dialed way back, subject listings on the forums display the whole subject line now, etc.
Unlike HC 2.0, I honestly believe, based on their attitude, the stuff I'm seeing getting done, and their responsiveness that the site will be a lot more familiar - or at least comfortably usable - for everyone within a week or two. I would have GREATLY preferred seeing that stuff handled before launching, but we really didn't have much choice in the matter due to just how badly things were degrading on the old sites.
