Quoting is good, requoting previous quotes ad-infinitum soons leads to a horrible mess. 

 

And as other have mentioned, making quoting easier and making quotes more obvious and different from the main text of the post would help a lot.

I completely agree.

 

It is possible to edit the nested quotes, but it's something of a pain.
