Hmmm... I took a quick screenshot before the switchover, and I actually GAINED about 20 posts. LOL.

Is it possible that the new software counts posts differently?

I suppose so, but I don't think that alone wouldn't account for the huge losses some people are reporting.

Quick question for the folks who lost posts - did you post in OJ and / or the Poli forum a lot? Craig's theory is that it could be posts from those threads that weren't migrated over that is causing the discrepancy in your counts.

Re: Anybody else lose a ton of their post count?

Weird. I have a high post count. For whatever reason, I've never lost my ability to use my ID or any post count. That I'm aware of anyway. I think the last think I could ever care about is my post count. If anything, I'd rather it was smaller so people might be fooled into thinking I have a life.

Re: Anybody else lose a ton of their post count?

Thanks MrSage - Let's hold off until tomorrow until we can see if the GC and Lithium folks have a solution for this issue before I go in and muck things up by trying to change the counts manually.

Phil, is it possible that the loses are the same as the amount that you bumped back up the last time the forum changed...back when we had to get a forum member to pm you to vouch for us?  My losses are pretty much the same as last time.  It would make sense that those additional posts would not be counted in the transisiton.

As for where the posts are made,  mine were all Effects/amps/guitars with no OJ at all.

I just did the cache search suggested above (though I had to use yahoo) and came up with my recent posts as 12,372.

Re: Anybody else lose a ton of their post count?

Thanks MrSage - glad to see you're still here!!! Thanks too for verifying my post count. This used to be quite a place back in the day! I still have your pedal that you built for me (Crimson Alpaca) and it still works beautifully. Never an issue and superb build quality as always. Thanks for everything my friend!

Hopefully they'll get the post counts fixed because to many of us - it does matter. Rock on brother!

That could be it.  I was at about 77,000 I think.  And as you might guess, many of them were in OJ.

*EDIT*  Just for curiosity, I went back to the old forum on web.archive.com.  I found this from an archive date of Jan 2013, just before the switchover:
