Re: What would you change about the new format, constructively speaking?

Definitely the one major change I would make is the width of the subject column. That is probably the biggest cause of the messy look.

Sticky threads and larger print is all that is needed.

If that means the column at the right side of the page on the forum parent (HCEG), then I agree. That's wasted space. They should take it out and leave more room for the thread data.

Re: What would you change about the new format, constructively speaking?

[ Edited ]

a)  Immediately get rid of the useless "Top Tags" and "New Solutions" krap on the right of the forum view taking up 1/3 of page.  Devote the saved space to the subject lines.

b) Make the avatars bigger; comparable to their size in vBulletin

c) Sticky posts

d) Get rid of the huge header, or at least cut it down to 1/2 its current size.  Perhaps keep the grey bar with the holes that contains the logo, but the top bar with the "music levels" graphic is utterly wasted space that takes up 10% of the screen.  Kill it with fire.

e) Fix the Rich Text Editor so that it auto-wraps when the text reaches the end of the viewport.

f) Put a Reply to Topic button on the bottom of the page as well as on the top.

g) Make the background of quotes and signatures a different color (pale grey or something?) to help visually distinguish them from the body of the text.  Make the font of the signatures smaller (maybe -1 of what it currently is) and the body text a little larger (maybe +1 of what it currently is)

h) Immediately axe the nanny censorship bullschitt;  this isn't a child development website.  :manmad:

i) When you post a new reply, it should take you to the END of the thread (i.e. your own post) not the top of the thread.

j) The ability to change/hide the background graphic would be nice.

k) No youtube embeds?

Re: What would you change about the new format, constructively speaking?

There are good suggestions here, and I have to assume that they are going to work on it.

This is the new home, fellas.  I think we are going to grow to like it.

But please, give me spell check soon!

Re: What would you change about the new format, constructively speaking?

i created a Stylish stylesheet that helps a lot with the main message listing.

You need to edit the OP code as described in Message 6 for it to work here.

Re: What would you change about the new format, constructively speaking?

I think people should be able to f.ucking express themselves through raw and colorful use of language.

I don't give a d.a.m.n about hypes, fanclubs or tonal religions. All I care about is what works for me.

Too bad this new "HC Forum does not allow me to post pics from external sites anymore - really a step backwards IMHO.

Re: What would you change about the new format, constructively speaking?

Two things bother me:

• The profanity filter. I don’t give a fūck about what Joseph Smith said about profanity, you Mormon crackpots at Bain. I’m not a member of your ridiculous cult and I won’t fūcking behave like one.

• The advertisments next to the list of threads needs to be moved above the threads. Right now the list of threads is too narrow and it’s hard to read.

Apparently, Google was flaging HC for profanity.  That's why they are bleeping out all the f.ucked up language.  It has nothing to do with treating us like the children we aspire to be.....

Something I liked on the old forum was the green icon that showed if someone was online or not.
