Re: Schecter players, join the SCHECTER SOCIETY!!

Just got the guitar... THANKS TOMH777!!!! SO... I have not had a chance to plug it into an amp (I'm at my office), but I pulled out the pickups to check the back for model... and it's a JB Bridge (SH-4), and a Jazz Neck (SH-2N). I'm even MORE excited about this guitar now.

I will let you all know when I get a chance to crank it into my amp! :smileyhappy:

C-1 Elite, love it, don't know why I don't use it more often except that it's too pretty.

Holy crap, I love these. Played one in a little mom 'n' pop store in a wood grain finish and it was just killer. And it was only like, $230. But I didn't have ANY money at the time or I would have jumped on it.

Re: Schecter players, join the SCHECTER SOCIETY!!

Hey Schecter Crew... I read thru this post and have seen some NICE guitars... I am soon (this Friday if FedEx does their job) going to be a Schecter owner. I traded a PRS SE Soapbar II for a Schecter C-1 E/A and I am very excited. (Thanks Tomh777 for the trade)

Here is a pic he sent.

So I have heard this guitar's pickups are just... OKAY. And I was thinking some Nickel covered pickups would look GREAT in this guitar. So I am planning on changing them out, and wanted some suggestions on pickup choice.

I would like to have medium-slightly hot output pickups... slightly hotter of course in the Bridge. I have a Kramer with a JB in the bridge, so I'm thinking maybe something just a little less hot than a jb. I was thinking maybe going with Gibson Burstbuckers... Maybe pro / maybe 1 neck - 2 bridge... but not sure. I want this guitar to have kind of an ES-335 type sound - be able to growl a bit, but clean up nice.

Anyone have this guitar and found a good combination of pickups?

Thanks ahead of time for all of your help!!!

- Corey

So I practiced with the band last night and played my Schecter C-1 E/A for the first time with the group (Since I got it last week). I plugged the Ghost (Piezo) pickups straight in to the board and had the Magnetic pickups going to my amp. Just a tiny bit of eq tweaking on the Piezo channel strip and it sounded like an acoustic! I'm mean it wasn't SPOT on... but 90%. If you were not looking at me playing, you would say... Nice sounding acoustic. SOOO much easier to play than an acoustic too! For throwing some acoustic sound into a band song -- it's great!!!! I'm really liking this guitar!

Rah rah rah, bought another Schecter! C-1 Blackjack this time.

My plan is to pop some active pickups in that guitar once it arrives... Maybe Duncan Mustaine set?

Re: Schecter players, join the SCHECTER SOCIETY!!

i dont get it...why is schecters website playing songs of bands that dont even play schecters? examples:
black label society-blood is thicker than water
hellyeah-hellyeah
ozzy-i dont wanna stop

BLS used a dean guitar for that song of theirs. and hellyeah also use dean solteros...:smileyfrustrated: and for that ozzy song, zakk uses his dean split tail, or gibson les paul for it...

well, anyways. for people who wanted schecters above the 1000 dollar mark, well, take a look at these:
http://www.drumcityguitarland.com/drumcitygl/stores/1/category.aspx?SID=1&Category_ID=85&Page=1

some of those guitars go all the way up to 6000 dollars. if i was paying any more than 2000, i'll just go to jackson. :smileyhappy:

Re: Schecter players, join the SCHECTER SOCIETY!!

Played one of these today in tobacco sunburst . . . except the one I played was a little different. It had a humbucker in the neck and a smaller, Gretsch-style pickup in the bridge. The thing sang like a lark, I absolutely loved it. I MUST HAS ONE.
