Can't go wrong with either. Both are renowned for great tone and solos so catchy they're just as memorable as any vocals. That said, I like Pink Floyd more than Queen so Gilmour.

Brian May More varied styles of playing . Gilmore is great but dosn't stray far from the Blues.

Gilmour. Listening to his solos feels like flying and he is so great at filling in the gaps of a song with nuances. Also, I can't count how many times I've caught myself singing along (if you can call it that) with his solos.

Gilmour. May is a better player, and Queen had better vocals, but I can’t listen to a Queen album without getting bored. Queen is a singles band for me.
