I'm thinking of buying a chapman ML-2 but I really am picky about the neck at least looking bound. I've been reading about people putting automotive pinstripe tape on the sides of the neck.
Does this work well?
Is it hard to do? (I am not handy at all)
How long does it last for?

I didn't find any pricing for this Chapman guitar, but a tour around the site makes me think that we're talking about boutique marker and an high price. I'm a little surprised that someone would pay $$$, and then put some tape on the side of the fretboard.
And it would just be the side of the fretboard---this, "binding" won't continue on to the fretted face of the board, as the frets are obvoulsy in the way. So this binding would be rather two-dimensional.
I guess i just don't get it.

I don't think they're that expensive. Well under $1000, I'm pretty sure.
I don't understand putting tape on the side of the fretboard just for the sake of appearance either, but who cares?

This is going to sound a bit rude but I find the idea ridiculous, it will look tacky.
