Need Ideas for Valentines Gig

[ Edited ]
We do this dinner show every year for about 150 people. My wife plays bass; I play acoustic and electric along with rhythm tracks on my Loop Station. Material ranges from Queen (Crazy Little Thing...) to Creedence to Linda Ronstadt, Lifehouse, Snow Patrol, Biffy Clyro, Beatles, etc.

This year's theme is Thorns and Roses and I'm looking for material. Obviously, Every Rose has its Thorne, Run for the Roses, and Love is a Rosé come to mind. What other thematic suggestion do you brilliant forumites have? Thanks in advance.

We opened a Valentine's show with "Cupid" but changed the lyrics.

'Cupid draw back your bow, and let your arrow go, straight to my lover's heart and... BLEEEEED!'

Re: Need Ideas for Valentines Gig

^ Cool suggestion. We also try to include one or two sing alongs. Last year it was Johnny Cash's Walk the Line. If you can think of something like that works without having to project lyrics, let me know.

The closing song is always Hot Rod Heart by Fogerty. I do this extended outro on my Jaguar with the Tweed Deluxe turned up to 12 and a real gnarly tone designed to rattle their fillings. I've got a lot of people fooled into the notion that I can actually play lead guitar, but the truth is that I've learned a lot by watching Neil Young pummel his Fender amp so that the trem fueled feedback and distortion cover up my questionable playing. They always look forward to it though--probably because they know it's our last song and they can go home:-)

I will set up a video camera and see if I can get an audio feed into my computer. It would be nice to get a multi track feed so that I can edit out my frequent gaffes.
