I had to go in my settings and adjust some things.

The Home page was confusing me at first.

Not me.  I tried unsuccessfully to load a pic from my photobucket account last night.  I tried all 4 of the links, tried direct posting (which always worked before) and loading them into the tree template.  None of the 5 different attempts worked.

Also haven't figured out how to reply with a quote yet.

Also, not much point in having Avatars if you need a magnifying glass to see them.

Maybe I should change my avatar to something easier to see, maybe just a number like "No.1" or "69"  or go Herman Cain with "999"

most appropriate for this new format though would be "666"

The mobile site is much better than the full site. Other than not being able to quote.

And the tiny avatars are just pointless.

The quote button is on the far right of the reply window. A fact of life is that online sites change their stuff all the time. Ebay and Facebook are notorious for it. And, at first, I'm always like "they ruined it", and am somewhat indignant. Eventually, I get used to it, and it's fine. ...Then they change it again!! -Adam

There's a quote link when you hit the Reply button, then the quote will show up.

It is what it is.... Sort of reminds me of looking at a newspaper article. Whats with the "Boy band" deal taking up the biggest part of the page? I'll get used to it,but it seemed much easier to focus on the older site.

Posting a pic from photobucket is a little more complicated. First you have to hit the insert/edit image link, then when that shows up you have to click "From another Site" then when the "image " box appears, you put the direct Link of your image in the box, then click "load image" on the right. of the box. 

Then you have to click "Insert Image," and then put in a title for your image. Pretty complicated.

those features are there for a regular browser but do not work from the mobile site and don't work on iPad or iPhone because they require Flash. Mobile support is very poor. If they were to make the site more functional for iPad and iPhone I would be fine with the changes.

I'm also getting used to it. I'll also say that I appreciate Anderton and Phil's constant posting of explanations, apologies and everything else.

Here's what I(and apparently many other forumites) don't get and HATE...
The old forum was both comfortable and intuitive...pretty much superior in every way to this format. This is such a HUGE step back, completely unpleasant to view and no where near as easy to navigate. On top of all that, the avatars are phuqed.

So it appears that we've taken a gigantic step backward...or forward, since backward would be an improvement.

I'll continue to post but I can fully understand why some of our favorite forumites will never be seen here again...
