Paul Reed Smith NF3
Named after its versatile pickup configuration (3 pickups paired with a 5-way blade switch), the NF3 utilizes the modern pickup technology of PRS Narrowfield® pickups. Narrowfields™ use the same wire as PRS’s coveted 57/08 pickups, but are narrower pole-to-pole and deeper front-to-back. The result is a new sounding pickup system with exceptional clarity. Paired with a “pattern regular” bolt-on neck and flat body design, the NF3 is a modern classic.
V12 Finish - Finish should enhance the look, sound, and feel of a guitar by accentuating the wood’s inherent beauty and feel without hindering its natural resonance. And PRS Guitars’ new “V12” finish does just that. Introduced at Experience PRS 2010, “V12” is a very thin, hard, and clear finish that will not crack or react with thinners. After roughly 12 years in development, it is halfway between acrylic and nitro but with a classic feel all its own. “PRS models with this new finish feel like old instruments,” said Paul Reed Smith.
Pattern Regular Neck Shape - Neck shapes have always been a high priority for us and a hallmark of our quality. A guitar should feel comfortable, like “home,” as soon as you pick it up, and the neck is paramount to that connection. The new “Pattern Regular” neck shape is similar to the traditional PRS regular neck found on guitars made in the late 80’s at PRS’s former Virginia Avenue location. This new neck shape reflects modern tooling and programming that allows us to even more precisely shape and consistently reproduce our necks.

Super hot, love it. I'd buy it, refret with stainless and play the crap out of it. There are several PRS's I'd like to have, and this is near the top of the list.

Not a fan of bursts of the sun/brown/amber variety so no.
On another note and still dealing with Korina, I'm curious why PRS doesn't use Black Korina as it is so striking in comparison to the White.

Looks like a great player, but sorry, not hot to me.
The PRS 3 on a side headstock just looks horrendous on there.
Maybe with a rosewood or ebony board and a headstock veneer. Maybe.

Truly ugly.

nothing hot about that.
if I wanted a strat type guitar with an offensive headstock id get a Suhr.

Hot, though not a fan of maple fretboard on this particular model.
02-15-2013 08:52 PM
Why not. It's a refined Strat.
