It takes a real man, with big fat hairy nads to play bass.
Damn you, little sissie guitar pluckers, in your pink clothes, with your little cups of tea and your little sewing circles.
Just stay over there twirling in circles, holding the little corners of your skirts up frolicing in the glitter with the rest of the fairies and leave the bass playing to the men.
Do you mean like this?

I enjoy playing bass although I'm not particularly good at it but I'm a guitarist at heart.

I recently got a bass, an ESP five string with a fat neck. Now my guitars feel like ukeleles. But I see myself getting a four string soon, because I like to anchor my thumb and pluck and that fifth string just gets in the way.

I play the bass like a guitarist. I've been thinking about my MIM Precision Special that hasn't been out of its case in awhile.
Interestingly, most of my favorite bassists either came from guitar or wanted to play the drums instead.

I'm thinking of getting myself a short scale semi and taking up lead bass.
If I can annoy people sufficently with that, then I might graduate to a 6 string Modulus or something.
Then I'll be ready to look up ol Razorblade Ray and take over the world.

50% of bassists are great bassists.
The other 50% are failed guitarists on 'Plan B'.
That's utter bollocks, at least 75% of bassists are failed guitarists.
