+1. They could at least make this sg deluxe a neck-thru for the price

Dont really care for that one...... prefer a simpler finish and small guard.

Re: Gibson announces new SG Deluxe

SG's must be either red, black or white (for the 3 pickup version). Dots or trap inlays only. That's the law! Don't f**k with Mother Nature.

Seriously? I love Bigsbys. Nothing else gives you that sweet wobble, but it takes some skill to work that stick while playing.

Not that I actually have the skills, but I'm working on it.

Re: Gibson announces new SG Deluxe

The inlays are pretty cool. "Red Fade" isn't bad. The other two colors are too bright for me [correction: Three. I see there's an "Orange Burst", as well]. I appreciate the experimentation, but why do they have to go whacky when they aren't doing the standard cherry, black, white, and burst? There's a happy medium that can be reached.

Real men vibrato with their fretting hand

(but in fairness, I have a bigsby-equipped Gretsch)

Rather hard to do that on full chords or especially open strings, don't you think?

Re: Gibson announces new SG Deluxe

The third pickup kills it for me.

Makes it look very gaudy IMO.

I just can't get into the 3 pickup thing. On any guitar.
