Re: GAS'ers and Gearheads...

Morning

EG it is good to see you back. I hope to stick around. You have a lot of intelligent, and witty posts I missed.

OK - I'll wipe my tears back...

In sheltie news: I talked with the vet yesterday. This small spot on Molly's lung has gotten slightly smaller. The next diagnosing would involve a Cat Scan. He said if it was his dog, he would just monitor her, and plan a last xray check in a month. I take this is good news - if not a refined diagnosis.

I did not sleep well last night. I think I had the bedroom too hot. I came out to the living room & slept there for a while.

Later...

Re: GAS'ers and Gearheads...

Off to church for third praise band performance within 48 hours. It's like I'm on a world tour. Only, just in the GNV.  Friday night we played for high schoolers and college kids at a youth event in our Fellowship Hall.  That went really great, except for some interband drama I can't get into (which didn't directly effect me anyhow).

Yesterday, I played a funeral.  For our praise band backing singer's grandmother.  Given that we played on one quickie practice the night before (while waiting for the youth event to start), it went great too.  The grandmother's favorite color was purple, so I wore a purple shirt and tie.  Bassist took a little pic:

me

Wearing the same ensemble, including tie, that I wore yesterday morning. Because I don't think anyone who wasn't at the funeral yesterday would believe it.

Afterward, going over to local surf/skate shop Free Ride to buy El Krashpadito some slidin' gloves.

Good morning.

x, MM's are cool. But I can understand wanting a LP Special. Other than a bit more wood on the body, would you really gain anything?

I still have that MIM Fender Telecaster to sell. If anyone is interested, let me know.

Re: GAS'ers and Gearheads...

[ Edited ]

Mornin. day of some work, some football, and some cleaning. I dont feel connected to any football team at this point, so just looking foward to good games... and pizza. (Been on a good healthy food kick, I deserve a pizza dang it.)

I really like the Boss Power stack pedal. it combined with a chorus pedal makes for tasty 80's rock.

The Marshall Jackhammer pedal has many tweaks. You have to play with it for a while. (That's what she....)
Sounds best so far with my SS Yamaha amp vs the tube amps.

also found that running the Valveking and B52 at the same time makes for great gain tones.

Found a better price on that Galaxy tab, so I had to order it and will return the other one. Its a good time to be in the market for tabs, PC's, and TV's....

sold my 67 impala last week, and will be cleaning out my garage for a new/old project. A 1950 Chevy Deluxe. I doubt it will ever see the road but it will give me some time with my Dad.

For some reason while on my 80's kick Im gasin for a bright Pink or Neon green Ibanez.

PK, the build quality is better. The tuners are better, the neck is bound, and intonation is better.

I think he would.  With the the Special he'd get A Les Paul with independent controls for each pickup, plus neck binding, an intonatable bridge, and a proper side jack instead of the top-jack.  No-brainer in my book.  More guitar for actually slightly less money at current blowout prices.

I'd do that'un in a heartbeat.

Click on the pic icon above your msg like the old way, then choose "from another site." And hit load picture. You may have to name the pic.  I have no idea why the fuck one should have to, but I think it refuses to post if you don't.

I guess there's no pic posting or quoting from an iPhone even if you switch to full site mode.

Odd.

Re: GAS'ers and Gearheads...

Well, I'm back here (did you miss me? :smileywink:)

NEway, I've been going back to the basics lately, playing the good ol telecaster and the new (to me) Martin.  Working on a couple of songs (Lunatic Fringe, etc.) for fun.  I've had so many soccer games to referee (four last week, seven next week) that I just don't have a lot of time to post or play lately!  However, the season only lasts until the middle of February, and then I can sit back (and enjoy all the cash I'm accumulating!)  Hope everyone's well and hope that this new forum is stable and reliable!

Cheers.
