Budget guitar with EMGs

Curious about a 'budget' guitar with active EMG pickups. Not 'cheap' but affordable. Looking for some Master of Puppets rhythm tones.

What do you suggest?

Re: Budget guitar with EMGs

I guess it depends on what 'budget' means. When I think of lower cost EMG guitars, I instantly think of the mid price range ESP LTD models or something from the Schecter diamond series.

Schecter Omen Active has undranded EMG active pickups.

Ltd Viper 400. They can be had dirt cheap and are very good guitars. Along this line I saw a Gibson SG Special with EMGs go for $341 on eBay the other day. **bleep**.

Wow. Now that would be a BARGAIN!

I've been looking into an Epiphone V or Explorer with EMGs. They pop up from time time on ebay for a decent price.

I'll have to look in to the Vipers. Always thought they looked cool.

I've owned 3 of them and am always on the lookout for another. Really really nice bound necks. Here's a nice white one on eBay.

Hellomusic.com has the LTD EC 401 for $449 in three very cool colors right now. I have a 400 series bass and it's killer! Great bang for the buck.
