Anyone tried both the G3 and the Ms50\MS100? Do the fx\amp models sound the same? I know they dont have exactly the same list of models... but how does the multi stomp sound?

The high gain settings on the Multistomp can be a bit noisy, but overall the multistomp is a pretty cool little box. I can't really compare it to the G3 as I have never had a G3 in my shop for long enough for me to get to fool around with it, even though I've sold a few of them. The multistomp is an awful good deal for $99, for sure.

Yea, same for the G3. High gain amp models are noisy. I figure its the same guts in a smaller form factor, but wanted to see if anyone has A\B tested them. I am a big fan of the tape echo on the G3 and might get the multi stomp just for that one effect

ive got the multistomp but have never played the G3.
i really like the modulation effects but dont really care for the dirts.
the delays, vibe, and eq sound great and are very useful.
the presets arent all the made out to be because you cant turn off the whole preset at once, only the individual effect that happens to be selected in the saved signal chain. i hope theres a way to do this i just havent figured out, if not its a pretty big design flaw. i know you can scroll between saved signal chains but thats not really the same thing.

Hmm, the one I have in the store right now bypasses the entire thing when you hit the button, I'm guessing there's a setting you need to change, Mr. Picklebottom.
i wish i could figure it out, ive read the little manual like a million times and tried everything i could think of. maybe ill email zoom.

apparently you can use the ls2 effect included in the pedal to turn off the entire chain with the footswitch. im going to try that this weekend.

Yes, the G3 can also be noisy ONLY IF you use the super high gain models such as the BZ DRIVE, EXTREME DIST.. etc... that's the reason why there's a Noise Reduction which I believe works very very well. You can't beat a Zoom for the price and sounds it can make!

The quality of modeling you get at the price point they put them at is quite amazing, for sure. the multistomp could qualify for "stupid deal of the day" at regular price, just because of bang for the buck.

You can purchase new sounds directly from Zoom?! I didn't know you could do that?! WOW!! Does it work with the G3? I'll have to look into this further!
edit: No mention of a store on the official Zoom G3 product page. Maybe its only for Multi-stomp? Seems silly if true, as Zoom would missing a large potential customer base of G3 owners: http://www.zoom.co.jp/products/g3

Its only for the multistomp MS100... as it has bluetooth to upload new models from itunes

That is intresting!!!! I love the G3! I wonder if the app store offers things thatg are not available on the G units

Never tried the G3, but the multistomp has some cool FX on it. The dirt on it was pretty rubbish (the rat clone was okay I guess). A cool little pedal for the price.

What effects are available for download?
01-22-2013 04:17 PM
they have a Klon pedal you can download... that one seems to be the most popular

Is that on the G3?

If anyone knows...when you buy additional sims for the MS 100BT....does it store what you bought in addition to the original sims? Do the new purchased sims replace the old ones to make space for them ? If it simply adds the new ones on...how many can you add before you run out of space for new sims?
