230 Gr. Federal Hydra-Shok .45 ACP JHP's go for around $22 - $24 for a box of 20, but 230 grain hardball's a lot cheaper. Shoot enough of the Hydra-Shok to make sure it's reliable in your pistol, and use hardball for the rest of your range time.

Phil, you shoot .45? I found some at Big 5, PMC $29 for 50. Not bad, I guess.
.45 ACP and 40 S&W (WWII era Remmington Rand 1911A1 and Glock 23). $29 for 50 rounds isn't bad at all.

I got that LE sales discount. 1000 rds of Federal HST +P for $500! 50 rd boxes go for $40 a pop normally, but I've got a good hook up. Plus I carry 1000 rds in the trunk of Federal HST +P .45 and 1000 rds of Federal TAP .223
We do have a LEO in the family. I should see if he can hook me up on ammo discounts.

Um, you do realise handguns are legal in Canada, right?
Yes of course but it is very strict as to who can get one, and they are tightly controlled. You cannot just fill out a form and go get one....
I don't know if they allow hollow point bullets to be sold to just anybody as well.
So if you are not licienced to have a pistol, and are carrying hollowpoint bullets and get caught by the cops you would be looking at some serious jail time...
