Re: The Doom Room: HCFX Edition

I can't play bass very well. I've tried it a few times, but I just end up playing it like a guitar, which never really works (and that's another reason why I dislike bass guitars with an electric guitar body, because it's too much of the same thing, and not unique from each other and separate). I always preferred the way bass guitars sounded, but I never felt at home with one when playing.

I replaced the bent steel saddles on my old Tele Deluxe with some Callaham parts and they came with a variety of saddle screw heights. They sell the screws separately as well, definitely a useful upgrade in terms of playing comfort.

Hobby shops (models, RC cars, etc..) in the States are known to stock the same kinda tiny screws.

$120 would be annoying to drop on something boring and functional like a bridge, but it might be worth it. We'll see. Thanks for the link.

My new band "Myth". Been together about 2 months, still writing and learning how to play together, it's coming along slowly, as we are all pretty busy people..and you all know how hard that can be..But this is a rehearsal take on a handheld recorder, not great but will give you an idea of what we do and what I've been doing with my chubby dickbeaters, besides building pedals, holding bottles and doobs.

Awesome. That's like a whole gig in one song. Sounds good and I like all the tempo change ups.

Jammed with two different bands yesterday- both bass players used T-birds. Badass.

Me too I'm one of those obnoxious people who say things like 'You play guitar? Then you can play bass too.'

In other news I got my Pulse Machine today. Very cool so far. The depth control actually goes from a triangle to almost square wave. The speed is a lot more restricted than the Tremolessence, but that's a good thing for me since I only use a small range of speed on trem anyhow. I'll try and do clips in a few days. Until then here's a new board pic.

Re: The Doom Room: HCFX Edition

Forum ate my massive multiquote post.
To summarize- Ya'all are cool. Sweet gear.

Fender bridges: measure the screw protrusion and then remove the screw Use vicegrips with some thin cardboard to protect the threads and then go at it with a dremmel tool. reinsert screw and how the bridge now feels

Edit: also guitarist can play bass. just gotta work the rythym more and chill on the noodle.

Re: The Doom Room: HCFX Edition

Damn, that board Trey. I was surfing Twosome and Dirt Transmitter vids today. 2013 is apparently the year of GAS for me. I think the Elements is the only significant purchase I made all last year. Now I want a new amp to go with the Hag.
Good deals: I've had 'em.

The Dremmel is one handy sonofabitch.

yeah, that is the biggest issue...they don't bother to change the size of the body...the ONLY guitar turned bass that i do like is the Flying V bass...although the body isn't scaled up, it still looks damn good!
