I'm sure there's tons of people who still swear by the Timmy overdrive, but I'm even more sure that a lot of the guys who were on a waiting list and payed twice today's price, have sold theirs to buy the next week's flavour...Right??
I'm good on dirt peds right now, but if I do fail to resist my gas, I might look for a low gain overdrive pedlol...
Not the sort of pedal I'm normally intersted in, but I'm kinda digging my Boss OD-1 lately, and I'm just wondering what else is out there. A couple low gain od recommendations would be welcome. Small foorprint, sub $140ish new, true bypass, easily available, decent build quality (ie no chinese clones, behringer, etc)...
All I can think off of the top of my head are a couple of classics: SHO, LPB-1, MicroAmp,...
In b4 klon btw![]()

I think the fad has not run out of steam yet... It's pretty rare to finda store with instock Timmys. I called Paul C a few weeks back, and the back order was about a week or two. I still have the Dano TOD... which has busted about 5-6 times, but still sounds pretty good.

Is it really a fad if it lasts like 10+ years?

I still dig my Timmy very much. The Barber LTD variants and the new Gain Changer are similar in terms of price/qualitygain range if you're averse to the Timmy. FWIW I prefer the Timmy for stacking and the Barber stuff for stand alone OD duties.

Timmy/Tim love still strong at tgp. Now that the Tim is out of production you should get them before they turn into the new Klon. By the way, I have a Tim and really like it.
I didn't read all of the replies here, but the Analogman KOT and POT (which I haven't actually tried, but is one half a KOT) are very good pedals similar to the Timmy/Tim, IMHO. I often switch between the two. Tim is a little more clear and "modern" sounding, while the KOT is a little rougher around the edges, more bluesy to my ears.
I wonder if any of this makes sense, since I'm suffering from jet-lag and kind of drunk.

got my timmy today and its as good as ever! :cattongue:
something just so good about it in terms of stacking it with other dirts, either before or after, it always just seems to play nice and sound great
