Okay. My mid-life crisis is upon me, and I’m doing a complete guitar make-over. I’ve fallen hard for a guitar that I really want, and circumstances require me to unload my #1. This is a ’92 Ernie Ball/Music Man Eddie Van Halen signature guitar. I bought this new in July of 1992. The birthdate based on the serial number (81769) is July 8th 1992 as per the Music Man Forum. You know what guitar this is. I’m not going to fluff it up, this guitar has been played, but it still has a lot of great years left in it. The pictures show all. It’s got scratches, dents and dings. There is one spot where the finish has been broken to the wood, but that happened shortly after I got it, and it’s stayed the exact same. There is also a dent on the lower horn. Frets are still in great shape for the age. The birdseye on the neck is outrageous. It more than makes up for any lack of quality on the top. The only unoriginal item is the bridge. Years ago the original Music Man stamped Gotoh started rusting on some saddles, and a couple of the string blocks began to seize up, so I contacted Ernie Ball about a replacement. They wanted close to $400.00 USD for a replacement bridge, and I had to send the original to them as proof of ownership, and they would not return it. This didn’t sit well with me, as I had paid for the original bridge, and if I was going to hand over that kind of money for a ‘proper’ replacement, I expected to own both, but that was not the case. So, I purchased a proper ‘Gotoh’ replacement, which is the exact same bridge, and installed it. It comes with the original bridge so if someone was ambitious enough, then could swap the base plates out. The only difference would be the stamp on the bridge. The original had ‘Music Man’, the replacement says ‘Gotoh’. Other than that, there is absolutely no difference in the bridges. The difference between the pics posted and now is I removed the D-Tuna because it just never worked 100%, and I’ve put the original cream ‘Tone’ knob back on. The case is in good condition. The only issue is the button lock tab broke off, but I still have the piece that came off. I love this guitar, but it’s time for me to move on. I’ve grown away from it. I would like to send it to a good home to someone who will play and get as much pleasure from it as I have. I would prefer to sell it someone in Canada, as I'm not comfortable trying to ship this to the US or anywhere else. Too risky. I’m asking $1600.00 CAD shipped in Canada. This unit can be used as a preamp for recording vocals or in front of a P.A. live for give depth, and effects on a vocal.
