Quick Johnny Marr Jaguar demo

I did a quick and simple demo yesterday using some movies I shoot with my iPhone, while I was waiting for my bandmates at our practice space. Go easy on me, I'm no pro at demoing, and feedbacks are welcome!

Re: Quick Johnny Marr Jaguar demo

Sounds good to me. It was a nice to hear how good it sounded with the Lunar Module.

Not to derail the thread, but I played one recently, and here´s what I posted in Guitar Jam:

I had the opportunity to play a brand-new AVRI Jazzmaster and the Johnny Marr Jag today. I had never played either type of guitar before, so it was pretty exciting for me as a Tom Verlaine fanboi. They both had very comfortable necks, I dislike really thin necks but they were just right. The AVRI might be a bit wider but the Marr is a bit thicker. It was a pleasant surprise that the Jaguar´s short scale didn´t feel too alien in my hands, and it actually opened up some new ways of voicing chords since Johnny Smith-type voicings were much easier to finger. The body shape was comfortable in general.

Tonally, they both are quite different. The Jag is pretty trebly so the tone control came in handy in taming it. On the other hand, people usually dismiss the rhythm circuit in the JM, but I found it fantastic for jazz. They both were very even, so it´s hard for me to say which one comes on top. I can imagine uses for both guitars as they had nice tones on tap. I will say that the Marr was very well thought out, as its new tremolo arm felt better than the AVRI and the bridge angle is improved.

I play a Telecaster nowadays, but I wouldn´t mind getting a Jag or JM to accompany it. Naturally, I can´t afford to buy one at the present time.

Nice review! It really represent both guitar overall. About the neck, I think the short scale JM Jaguar's neck feel good to a lot of people because of its thickness, compared to a Mustang, that indeed feel very small.
Here a picture I took comparing my AVRI Jazzmaster's neck to the JM Jag(Jazz on the left, Jag on the right):

This. I would love to see Fender put out a Jazzmaster with a fat neck like that.

Seriously, the Marr is a couple hundred Euros cheaper here than an AVRI even with the new features. I think a Jazzmaster would be more suited for me, so I support your idea.

Its neck is not as big as the HR Tele, because the Tele's neck is larger, but it feels close. The JM Jag custom neck profile feels like a D shape with a more pronounce "oval"
quality to it, while the Tele is supposed to also have a D shape, that feels more like a C to me, especially compared to the Jaguar.

I had the chance to play a Metallic KO Marr signature today. It won me over completely. The neck was so comfortable. WANT.
