You guys remember my strat? I painted it about a year ago.
Well, it's been laying around for awhile and I want to make it work. The electronics are fine but the whole thing is just fucked from the frets being rough to the action being incredibly high. Doesn't play at all.
What should I do? It's a squier bullet strat.

I've been working on something very similar (VERY - oddly, we both chose blue ....) and found that the chorus of voices encouraging multiple coats of finish and sanding were correct; it really is the difference.
Another key is setting up an appropriate work space. I live in a place with a ton of blowing dust, and my first couple of attempts were totally stymied by wind-blown dust getting into the finish. This caused me to HAVE to resand, which turned out to be a plus, though you wouldn't have known it at the time from my stream of profanities.

Will a Peavey neck bolt in?
You can't go wrong with a Raptor neck... nicer than Fenders, imo.

Trade or flip a pedal or two for a mighty mite neck, also i've always liked that color of blue on a strat always reminds me of Pagey at Knebworth playing In the Evening, looking all of about 98 pound soaking wet...
