Yet by the end he's managed to humanize them a little. Even if they aren't assholes, they have to act like assholes to get the pictures that will sell. And that makes them assholes.
Yeah, but even though he humanize them a bit, they are still batshit crazy. Telling him he is worthless and slighting him over and over, and then cupping his balls in the next breath. (figuratively)
It seems it is a very effective method of showing how meaningless and shallow their world is.
