Phase pedal

I'm deciding on what phaser pedal to get out of:
1.Electro-Harmonix Small Stone Phase Shifter
2.DigiTech XHP Hyper Phase
3.MXR Phase 90

What do you guys think would be the best? Im just tryin to get some feedback to help me decide.

Name some songs with phase sounds that you like, that should help to narrow down the pedal you want.

Re: Phase pedal

the main difference between the small stone and the phase 90 is the small stone sounds more like an overdrive than a phaser.:smileyhappy:

Small Stone is thicker and more gloopy sounding, especially with the color switch on, and gets a bit faster than the Phase 90. The MXR is the classic swishy phase sound, with a little bit of a treble edge, which helps it mate well with distortion.

Someone should really knuckle down and build the two circuits into one box with an outlet for expression controlled phase speed.

about the phase

Dude when searching for the perfect phaser, always look for pedals you can tweak, pedals that have a WIDE range of options.

for example the BOSS PH-3 Phase Shifter

I own a digitech Hyper Phaze

but don't like it that much, it holds back much of the clarity ( clean ) i want it to produce.

I'm also on a hunt for the perfect phaze pedal,
sofar this is the only on on my wanted list.

Boss PH-3
Epiphone Gibson G-310 modified with distortion humber.
Squier Fender strato heavy mods. Ibanez Acoustic performer.

CRATE GX212 Custom 12"

Digitech: RP300, Hyper Phase
Boss : DD-5, OC-8, OS-2, MT-2
ZOOM : 505

Re: Phase pedal

You should consider the Pigtronix EP-1 phaser.

It has more depth and clarity as well as way more features than the Small Stone or Phase 90. It is also mroe expensive, but well worth the $.

Any way you go, I definitly recommend an analog phaser over the digitech or boss pedals.

Re: Phase pedal

teh PH-3 does do alot of things, and rather well, but there is a noticable change in tone when you turn it one. Just a warning from a guy who owns one.
