New short VIbrola day
i was a little hesitant drilling into my guitar, i'm a clutz when it comes to diy stuff. but i did it anyway.
the wrap around bridge is one of those smooth ones, and it wouldn't stay in place when using the vibrola. i was gonna order a differnt bridge, but then read that you could wrap the low E string and use the rest of them on the vibrola. so i figured, why not wrap the both E's around the bridge to keep it in place. worked.

very cool Honk!
I would get the intonated bridge though--for intonation and so you can actually use the vibrola for all the strings.

yeah, i'll probably order one, but for now this works. i don't make a full barre chord and then dive bomb anyway. seems to work good the way it is. no intonation issues either.

That's a sweet looking rock machine.

thanks negro,
i would still love to get an original but this will do for now. they moved the knobs for easier access but by doing so have made it difficult to remove the vibrola bar. also the pickguard is shorter than the original, in case anyone was wondering.

No, I just couldn't think of a better response. Swell guitar, Nathanael.
