So I got a Zoom G3X yesterday and I was really enjoying it... effects sound great... unit looks great... very user friendly....
But then when I hooked up a footswitch to tap tempo delays .. I was very disappointed to find that all I can do is either mute input or "hold" the delay repeats.
How incredibly stupid is that??? Why would they not include tap tempo control of delay??
Am I missing something? I'm thinking about contacting them and demanding a firmware update to make this possible.
Has anyone else with a G3X noticed this?

I was able to get a basic latching footswitch working as a tap tempo. Did you change the settings, and set the control for a tap tempo? There is a thread on TGP about using a splitter to hook up both a tap temp and a exp pedal. If you can solder, Ashbass has a good thread on building an external tap and drum machine on and off switch.
I have said this a few times... The G3 is great for bedroom players, and super cheap for all the options and tones you get, but its not very gig friendly.

I think you need to move the delay time past the max time, and you can use the tap tempo...

Yep that was it... just gotta keep turning the Delay Time knob until it changes from milliseconds to note values.
Thanks for your help!! ![]()
