Re: Need a new tremolo, whaddya like lately?

I think that vox vib/trem bo of a couple of years ago was underrated.

It probably isn't what you are looking for, but I am in love with the Zvex Sonar right now. Easily the most versatile and musical trem I've ever used. In fact, I'd say its one of the most inspiring pedals I have bought in quite some time.

Great transactions with: Amplifier Worship, lowbrow, Faldoe, seifukusha, squareking, needleTOink, StopReferencing, Aaron SS, Lou-Dog

It isn't the cheapest, but I recently picked up one of these and it sounds phenomenal.

I have the Red Witch Pentavocal Trem as well and it is quite good...just wish it had tap tempo sometimes. I've also loved the demos I've heard of the Young Pedals The Looker trem. Burg does a great demo of it (like all his demos).

I have the licenced version of the T-Rex Tremster by TC Electronic. It´s a solid pedal and the volume control is useful. I like it. Demo by Burg:

Never tried the Red Witch but I've been curious about it too. The lack of tap at that price point may be the reason why, but not sure that's a deal breaker to me now, possibly but less so. I have liked the demos of it.

The Looker was on my list last time, ended up going with the SolidGoldFX Stutterbox which I liked a lot. Now there's a new version of the Sb which I will consider again, this one has tap, the earlier version had 2 selectable speeds. The Empress was really solid too, l liked the one mode where you could ramp up between the slow speed and faster speed with the touch of the tap button.

Lastly the Diamond trem seems to have fans too, love their overall quality and usually quite feature laden. Might be more than I need though.

I dumped my reverb and got the Flint. If you look at it as 2 pedals in one box it's not that bad of a deal.

Yes that's true. I had almost gone that route, one of my hangups with the mono inputs. I usually have a stereo pedal before my reverb, currently an M5 (had a Nova and DD-20 in the past) that I like to use the stereo outs to the reverbs stereo ins. But with the Flint I can't do that. However, I'm sort of leaning away from that, as long as the Flint has stereo outs, then I can send the signal to 2 amps which is how I run in stereo.

How is the Plate mode on the Flint? That's pretty much how I use my Supernatural most of the time.

I didn't know Mojo Hand FX had two tremolos, although maybe the Bayou is replacing the Sugar Baby. I really like this one too, and nice and simple:

Re: Need a new tremolo, whaddya like lately?

I stuck a ground down Nose pedal knob on the tremolescence so I can change the speed. Its nice cause I can rest my heel on the wah and diddle the speed knob with some decent control. And the LED shows the speed your at so I get by with it, but its no tap tempo obviously.

Good idea with that larger knob. I think more tremolos should come this way. Just makes sense. I'm looking closer now to the Hardwire TR-7. I like that it is stereo, would be cool going into my Hardwire Supernatural. And adding the rotary/vibe modes would be sort of cool too. Also, good price.

I always thought the Rockett Josh Smith Dual Tremolo seemed really cool, but I haven't tried it myself.
