I played guitar in a band playing a festival thing in front of Mike Turner, the old guitarist for Our Lady Peace. We had a chat after about some effects pedals. Nice guy!

Played guitar around the campfire once with Michael Kang and Bill Nershi of String Cheese Incident, along with about a half dozen other people. I didn't know who they were at the time, but they could really play. Had Slash and Axl Rose wander by when I was playing acoustic in a parking lot after a concert. Don't know that they paid me any attention, though.

I play in a Smiths and Morrissey Tribute. We played a gig in Calexico and Andy Rourke was our opening act, DJ'ing. It felt kinda weird to be playing tunes that he helped Marr and Moz write, but he was super gracious and a real down to earth guy. Good DJ too!
Other than that, I was at NAMM playing around with the T-Rex pedalboard and Frank Gambale walked by, but he couldn't hear me thru my headphones, lol.

here's someone else's story
bitd, in my engineering days.... a guy in a different group was sooo proud of a pic he had from when he played keyboards in a backing band for Chuck Berry (notorious for picking up a few drek musicians in a locale to be his backers for a night...Chuck did this for decades). Anyway, shortly after I first saw the pic, Mr Keys lopped off two of his fingers in a hacthet/kindling incident.
oops.
3 years later, I nearly lost two of my own....but my re-attach surgery was successful.

Drank beer with John Fahey at a friend's house after one of his concerts and tried to play "The Death of the Clayton Peacocks." Fahey just laughed and cracked another beer.
