At long last I'm pulling the m9 off of my board. All i use it for anymore is reverb and tremolo so it's time to make some decisions.
i've been looking at a few pedals, feedback is appreciated.
reverb:
hall of fame
RV7
supernatural
trem:
omicron
voodoo labs
eqd hummingbird
OR should i bite the bullet and get a flint?

What kind of reverb sounds are you wanting? The Flint sounds good, but the other reverbs you mentioned have much different types and more options. I really like the tremolo on the Flint too, but while I only sparsely use trem, I've read complaints from people who say it doesn't go slow enough or have enough options for them. For me, the Flint is great if you're looking for something that sounds great and isn't going to take up a lot of space or time to figure out.

Personally, I'd grab a Flint and be a very happy man. Turns out, those pedals sound fucking ace.

Funny. I'm thinking about swapping a Trinity reverb. EQD Humming bird, carbon copy and Headrush back to M9 for shits and giggles. But yeah, those were the only effects I used when I had an M9.
oh really?

I don't know the flint... but I have used these
HOF - lots of good verbs, but the spring is lacking
Hummingbird - the level knob is key, so you don't lose any volume when the trem is on

So... what are you gaining by getting rid of the M9? Board space an issue?
Just seems like changing things up for the sake of changing them up. Which is cool sometimes, but those M-series are just so damn useful. Never know when you need an effect.

it's just too much stuff and i'm trying to micro-size my board. i'm getting to the point where i'm playing often enough and traveling enough that i want to minimize everything. right now i have 3 dirt pedals, 2 delays, and an m9 on my board. i want to get it down to maybe 2 dirt pedals, 1 delay (for slapback) trem, and verb. I may or may not let the m9 go, it is a pretty powerful tool but i am not an over the top effects user.

I don't have any experience with the Flint, but when I'm gigging with my Vox instead of my Deluxe Reverb I use either a VL Tremolo or a Boss TR-2 and a TC HoF.
The VL is optical, has a lot of range, and can be used as a clean boost. The only downside for me is that the knobs are so close together that I can't change the rate with my shoe. Also, the switches suck. I've had to replace the switch on mine twice in the past 10 years, and both times, dealing with VL customer service was a hassle. The Boss does the job. It doesn't sound as nice as the VL, but it pulls off the Blackface tremolo sound, I can change the rate with my shoe, and it's built like a tank.
The HoF plate and church modes are amazing, but the spring is indeed lacking. The EHX Holy Grail does a pretty good spring reverb, but I traded mine for the HoF. In all honesty though, the HoF sounds so good that I don't really miss the spring.
