I thought the point of this pedal was to be cheaper/ more accessible.
So why are there people trying to hawk KTRs for $450?

Dude, you're not kindly remembering.

no better way to up the price than to make production scarce.
no worrys...he can always sub-out thru another high-quality vendor like:
- Catalinbread (oh wai....Echorec, EP, dat chorus,
- MojoHand (nah, nix that: Iron Bell, Rook Royale W/CHEESE MUTHAFUGGAHS )
- Earthquaker (well, no here too since everything they touch is gold).
Anyway...soon as Teh Boston BigMan picks up a soldering iron, there'll be Klons galore...

I tried one a couple of weeks ago, actually muy first Klon experience ever
I wasn't blown away, too higgh expectations, but I did love the aesthetics of the KTR
A/B'd it with a Klon clone (can't remember which one, too expensive anyway) but soundwise, I preferred the clone
Once back home, I pulled out the Banzai Cold Fusion and that is still the one that suits me best

"He was forced to redesign the KTR because it wasn't as transparent as the originals. I applaud his efforts and his commitment to transparency."

I'm thinking it's all hype too. I listen to youtube demos and it just sounds like every other transparent overdrive pedal (to my ears at least).
But I was watching an interview with Joe Perrys guitar tech and he was just raving about the pedal, saying it's Joes favorite, and how it's the best, and a vital piece of gear. I figured these guitar vets should be savvy enough to not fall for the hype, unless they are purposely trying to create it.
