Meh, it's a back formation and shouldn't really be right but it's in the language now, and you know what is meant when someone uses it. Even if it hits that nerve and makes you shout "It's Wrong!"
Technically we shouldn't use the word oblgate, it's a back formation from obligation which stems from oblige.
Also burgle. That's a back formation from burglar, which is itself a back formation from burglarize. These words entered common use and now nobody has a problem with them. :idk:
