The extent of my playing for the past couple of months has been a weekly bluegrass jam--where I play washboard. I sat down at my kit yesterday evening, and my arms felt like jelly. It was pretty disheartening. I think I'm going to have to make more time to play drums.

I think strength training is a good thing. It should be scaled and coordinated to actual technique(s). Gripmasters, rubber balls and the like do help if you know what and how to practice.

Got on the kit again today, and was able to go a lot longer than yesterday--it's amazing how quickly it comes back! My hands still weren't really doing what I was telling them to, though...
Maybe on the day's that I don't get a chance to play anything (coming home late at night or something), I can do some sort of weight training.

Always make more time to play drums!
An admirable goal, but sometimes not possible :robotsad:
