Every drummer had a set of those when they started out, I think. I still have the 6" and 8" ones from my first kit somewhere. They will be added to the pRoto Kit. Oh yes. They will, by god. If I can find them, that is.

I still have my traditional kit, but this will be fun to play with for a while. I just need to solve pRoto Kit's stupid bar mounts. Not a fan of flat toms.

Use a rotating multi-clamp to hold the tom screw. Voila... no more roto-tracks.

I did that way back in the misty mists of time. Not a fan. I like the idea of utilizing a Tama dual-tom mount for 2 rototoms, not just having to buy another pile of hardware. Still, it may come down to that.
I need to invent something and get rich off of the millions of rototom customerrs out there. Then my pRoto Kit will be KING OF ALL! Or something.

I will post pics when I can. I have the same issue, I prefer low toms.
Take a cue from the guy in the video. He's using clubs and arms. That's what technique is about. Gettin to the music.

There once back in the 80's was a pearl kit that incorporated a roto tom mounted above a fiberglass shell called Veri-pitch drums. They were pretty cool, cause you could change tuning on the fly. They didn't last very long however. I remember taking a yellow kit on trade in those, and reworking that kit so it had black pinstripping all over the yellow shells. (back in the Stryper days).
As a solid yellow, it sat for 6 months, after the black stripping, it lasted 6 hours and was sold.
Too funny the things that are out there!
