Do any of you actively read any drummer blogs?
My brother is a writer, and many of you may have noticed I like getting a wee-bit philosophical about the ol' tubs. Well, he's been pushing me for awhile to start a drum blog, and I think I’m going to do it. I had to debate what the purpose was and why I was doing it, and after a lot of thought, the angle of “trials and tribulations of your average weekend warrior” seemed to really speak to me. When I look to drummer blogs, it's a lot of the stories of bands working hard to "make it," and technique talk and recording stories...
...so I think my niche is "the weekend warrior and what we go through as dedicated hobbyists."
I guess the easy part is I’m not seeking accolades, followers, fame or anything – I just like sharing the fun of it all. I even got back up onto Twitter, too – time to start utilizing that! @FitchDrums
I'd love to know if any of you read drummer blogs, though, or even have your own, and what interests you around the topics and perspectives. I think, in many ways, the content wouldn't be much different that what's already posted here.
