My first amp was Moserite amp with a 15" and it sounded OK for clean tone.
Actually sounded quite full sounding but it was designed for an instrument and the head was voiced for it.
I also played in a band with a guy who used a Delta Lab head and a JBL with a metal cone in a small sealed
cab. Sounded pretty awful to tell you the truth. That head was capible of getting some great sound but the 15"
could have sounded allot better in an open back cab.
I had a pair of older White backed Altec speakers that sounded great with anything I used them for.
They sounded best with bass or vocals but the metal dome made them OK for clean guitar. Theres no
way you would get any natural speaker drive pushing them.
Something like this is what you really want but they arent cheap.
These are the kind fender used. Pretty good responce for a 15"
These are more budget and are good up to 6Khz.
Or like this is a new option. Pretty big 2K bump though.
Heres a comparison chart
Something like this probibly wouldnt be a great choice. Its frequency responce is only good up to 3.5K

Try it on the speaker first and be sure you like the sound.
You may take a big dip in tone and volume.
Personally, I'd build an open backed cab and use a jack
on the amp head to disconnect the internal speaker and
run the extension and use it that way for awhile to be sure
its something I definately wanted before removing the guts
and transferring it to the 15" cab.
If it didnt sound the way I wanted it to then I wouldnt have gone through all that
work for nothing. I'd still have the option of getting a high spl speaker for the original combo
which would make the amp many times louder.
