Hey Craig, I have noticed, I already see that some people are already **bleep** at the changes, I don't mind I like changes, and do it all the time, its one of the signs of the times and I like it, hmmm maybe I should turn that into a song, anyway I am all for it, I like changes, stagnation makes the world go stale.

Hey Craig, congratulations on the launch.
Is there a specific place where we can make suggestions?
** never mind, I'm an idiot, found that suggestion board. **
I see evidence that everything you need for a great forum is here.

Yay, found "BSWTB"

Does anyone else have an issue with the edit window not being wide enough and forcing the dreaded horizontal scroll bar that makes it impossible to see a whole line at once?
ADDENDUM:At first you think, well, it's got a pull tab in the corner -- I can just resize the window to use the dead space to its right. Wrong. It only resizes down -- not to the size to utilize the dead space.
This makes writing and editing a complete pain in the backside, as you can't even see the beginning of a line when you're at the end -- and vice versa. This happens in either Firefox or Chrome no matter how the page size zoom is set. (Also text zoom in Firefox doesn't work, probably because these guys hard code the text size, an odd choice for what should be a responsive design.)
Spacing between paragraphs is unpredictable and displays differently in the edit window than it does after posting.
Also, will we have the ability to insert YouTube and/or other videos. That has become an important part of songwriting discussions in the SW forum.
I also notice that the edit window doesn't allow Chrome or Firefox spell check and that its built in spell-check is less than a joke. The first word it didn't recognize: blog. Second word: Firefox. And on top of a ridiculously stunted dictionary you have to manually invoke it.
But this edit window horizontal scroll bar makes this board just about unusable.

Did you need to re-register? Just PM me with the email you're using to register, and I'll get you your old name back.

That bugged me, too. I discovered that if I click on the HTML tab, the lines wrap at the edge of the window. And also, I see all the HTML codes in the quoted part, most of which I don't remember what they mean.
Also, the way quoting works, it's awkward to reply with quoting "in line" like questions followed sequentially by answers.
Doesn't anybody look at what used to be, or do they all have to invent a new square wheel first? Really, it's not that bad, but after a few years all the forums worked the same, and now they're diverging. PreSonus is supposed to have a new forum early this year too, but that doesn't bother me because I've been banned there.
Also, I see that I have to beat it into submission with HTML turned on in order to separate a reply into paragraphs.

Yeah... this is what happens when you have people who apparently have never used a proper bulletin board trying to design bulletin boards. I'm sure they're very good at what they're good at. But this is not that. Clearly.
They really need to address the issue with quoting -- it's a mess on the page. They should use a slightly lighter font shade in the quotes since readability isn't that big an issue with a quote. And lose the heavy dark lines which are distracting. They should be a light, light gray. Also the indents aren't deep enough to visually guide the eye properly.
Also the basic font strikes me as too light a gray.
Eye fatgiue is already setting in.

There's a ticket in for the scrolling issue, but please, post these kinds of comments in the feedback forum, because that's being monitored constantly by pople who can actually make these changes. Already several changes have been made, like making URLs in a different color instead of a darker one.
You can insert videos by clicking the "film strip" icon. It defaults to YouTube, but it supposedly allows uploading other videos as well.
I'm not sure what the deal is with the line spacing either. I've experienced the same issue. As to the spell check, I'm not sure what the issue is with Chrome but again, you'll get more attentinon in the feedback forum.

Thanks, Craig. I went looking for it earlier, searched the menus and used the site search but couldn't find it. And I couldn't find the moderator's forum, either, so I finally came here.
But, yes, now I do see the link to the feedback forum on the landing page under the reset password button! Thanks, I'll take this stuff there.
But I don't see any 'filmstrip' icon at all. I see a tree icon (which means insert image for reasons I cannot imagine), the familiar chain 'link' button, something called 'insert spoiler tags,' a smilie and font stuff but no filmstrip.

Reset the container to 85-95% % and it'll more than take away the **bleep** scroll issue in the text field as well as make the overall look more appealing..

Reset the container? What's the container, how do you reset it, and how is anyone supposed to know how to do that?

It looks good so far, but I'm not much of an early adopter anymore. I think I'll keep using the old version until all the bugs are worked out. ![]()

Wow. Very different. Looks like a lot of new features. I hope it all works out alright!

B2B, I have the same issue (Safari) about only being able to resize the window down, and was circling back here to make the same comment. Sometimes, it obscures what I'm writing unless I push the scroll bar back.
Also, I find the posts in general to be too narrow for my tastes, whether reading or posting. There's a lot of wasted space on either side.
I like the AutoSave feature, assuming it's working.
