Re: Craig Anderton Joins Gibson

Let me be the second to welcome Craig into the world of what some of us call a "real job." I think this is the first time I've ever heard of an Executive Vice President, Evangelist. Sure sounds like it must pay well. :smileywink:

Congratulations, Craig!   Hope this brings lots of good things to you, our hard-working mentor.

Tell us later how this might effect your other activities in which we have an interest.  But for now, you need to sign up for that 401(k)!

Well, unfortunately I've tendered my resignation to Harmony Central, and given 90 days notice. But it is totally amicable. The basic reaction was "You'd be crazy to pass that up." Besides, we have a great team in place and I've made suggestions on a transition plan that would strengthen our team even further.

Ideally, it will be a Peter Gabriel-leaves-Genesis kind of thing where Gabriel went on to have a cool solo career, and Genesis went on to have hit after hit after hit.

I will still be writing articles, doing lectures, and performing. In fact that's part of my job description, so I'll still be executive editor of EM, contributing to Sound on Sound, etc. Working with Gibson is extremely demanding, but also gratifying. I've consulted to the company on and off for seven years, and they've been some of the most exciting projects I've ever worked on. So when I was made an offer I couldn't refuse, I already had connections in the company and worked with many of the teams there.

Of course, the first question Phil asked was "do they have employee discounts?" :smileyhappy:

I'm at a stage of my life where being offered an opportunity to make a real difference before I shuffle off is very appealing.

It's going to be a wild ride, but I like wild rides.

Thanks for all the good wishes.

There are now eight music videos posted on my YouTube channel, including a cover of "We Gotta Get Out of This Place," which joins "Little Pieces", "Black Market Daydreams," and "When the Grid Goes Down" (complete with disturbing video )

Inquiring minds want to know... are you Gabriel or Genesis in this case? :smileywink:

Congrats Craig!

Congrats. Hopefully, you can provide some course correction, as I find them a bit lost lately.

Oh, but you can't expect to wield supreme executive power just because some watery tart threw a sword at you.

Well done, Craig.  When you get there, would you please let them know that HC forumite Help!I'maRock wants the long neck tenon back?

Cheers to you!

It's hard to face the truth, but I suppose you yourself realize that if you'd had just a little more courage, just a little more strength of character, you could have been dead by now. No such luck.

Lol.

They brought back the long tenon on the Studio and Standard models for 2013. I would like to see it applied to the entire line.

I would also like to see the headstock angle reduced, and Henry disallowed from speaking in public.
