but they were probably sensitized at that point, and the plane wasn't full, so we took the guitars on board and they had their own seats...but they made the bassist check his bass...

I would check it out to see whether it is "authentic" in term of intonation. I think the original LP Jr. had limited ability to adjust intonation. Hopefully these have a more modern system.
But, really, $129 is just way too much to spend on a guitar anyway!

the necks on the bolt on versions are crap...you get what you pay for. I bought one years ago for display purposes for a trade show. Of all the cheap guitars I bought for that display, that was the worst. I salvaged everything I could, the the neck was, well...split in the back. I didn't have time to replace it when I got it, and since I didn't pay for it out of my pocket, no biggie. We sold the others off to employees (a Dean, some Squiers) below cost... I still have the body and hardware...and I keep telling myself I should get a neck from Stewmac or GFS...but so far, no. So, like anything else, check it thoroughly!

The original Gibson LP jr.s had a wrap-over 'smooth' stop tailpiece (I had a '59) and yeah, intonation was iffy...I also had the 'fixed intonation' stop tail on my Melody Maker, and wound up putting a Leo Quan Badass on it.

I have a Korean made bolt on LP Special II from the early 90's that plays like a dream and refuses to die....I finally put decent parts on it and and an '86 PJ Marx 412 pickup and I love it.

Those LP Special IIs were done at Samick. Reasonably priced, and yeah, they played okay, just the electronics were second rate....intentionally. They were almost as good as the Ibanez post lawsuit bolt on LPs.
