On some sites, especially where people are providing information/advice, they are used to give a guide to who is reliable, diligent in their research etc. Can't quite think how it is relevant to old fogies chewing the fat about nothing in particular.

 

Here's an example where its called your "reputation score" so readers can use it to quickly assess whether a poster has been a reliable source.

Apparently HC is aware of that.  There is no facility for giving you kudos.  I was going to give you one for self-awareness!

Possibly they don't allow them for mods because so many of them would be ironic.

You can't give kudos to yourself which is good considering all the egos on HC. You can give one if the kudo button has a plus (+) sign on it. Otherwise, nada.
