Gurely and the boys had psychedelic moves after Janis came along. Check out the intro to Ball and Chain. Now some people heard such excursions by Big Brother as out of tune cacophony, but these guys could play it straight very well if they wanted to. Thing is, they often weren't straight and their stuff reproduced the slippy-slidey morphs music can assume when a person is chemically experiencing other dimensions.
I don't where this was recorded but Jimmi is in the audience, and a woman who looks a lot like Cass seems blown away by Janis.

Not very bluesy, but kept the psychedlic flame going through the 70s-Gong with Steve Hillage
