I've had my hands on the Dean acoustics before, and while they are very price-friendly, they play nice.

I wouldn't know where to start with picking one for a gig!

What's the name of your band? You're in Nashville as I remember.
Thanks - for my main band, I take four - one standard tuned 4 string for E and drop D stuff, one Eb tuned 4 string for that stuff, a 5er for all the D, Db, C, and B stuff we play, and a backup 5er... We typically play 4 hour gigs in lots of different tunings, and since our backline is trucked in, I don't mind bringing a few basses with me... Both my guitarists bring 3 guitars, and use a Morpheous(sp?) for the stuff that goes below C - the one on my side and I share one of those 7 slot guitar stands... We change up quickly enough so that it doesn't slow down the show any - we'll usually play around 50 songs in a night... If I play in any of my side projects, or do a fill-in gig, I bring considerably less stuff... - georgestrings
