We changed out our drummer and L. guitar player in 2012 - and I finally extricated myself from having printed lyrics on stage last summer. I thought that I had lost the ability to memorize songs like I was able to do in my youth - but it turns out - I was being a little bit lazy or paranoid.

This show is at a local brew pub that is very fun to play. Feeling good about the band. We got some talented young blood in the new drummer (27) and a seriously versatile talent in the new guitar player. We also went from one person doing back up vocals - to two. Huge diffy.
We've recently tweeked our approach on picking material and it seems to be working for our venues.

Here's something for discussion... I tend to post more pics of the audience than of the band. When I look at a band's photo album on FB from a certain gig and only see pics of the band and none of the crowd it makes me wonder.. Was anyone even at this show?

There is nothing better than "pro-looking" live band shots to make you look and feel pro.

just sayin in general that's how I percieve photo albums on FB. If I see 30 pics of the band and zero of the crowd I may think no one was there. I could be wrong, maybe there are 1000 people there and the photog was just shooting the band. Maybe I would think that but would a bar manager think that if they were looking up info on a prospective new band? I am not pointing the finger at teh OP I am just pointing it out for discussion. There are many other photo albums on his band's FB that show crowds.
Maybe I should have started another thread and posed the question. Does posting pics of your crowd matter? I know it has worked for me in the past.

Love the look of that surf green guitar.
Thanks. It is a '93 Series II EG2. Love the neck. Hate the two front pickups.

Some new fan showed up and she's into photography and took the pix and put them up on facebook. That is all.
These pix are not meant to market gigs for us. We have all the work we want. Our closing hour till numbers are very good - according to the managament of this particular venue.

The pics of the band look nice and a bit better than the usual smart phone pics. -
but like I said- "something for discussion" and it was not really pointing at you. Your FB has a bunch of pics that show more than just the band- although your pics did made me think about bands that have 95% pics of themselves in gig photo albums and no crowd shots... or worse yet. a shot of an empty room. LOL
Grant posted his thoughts about this awhile back and I agree with him. His band, NIAB shows way more crowd pics than band pics and I understand why. It looks like a blast! I try as much as i can to do that. I am always marketing for my band. We may have all the work we want but we can always get better gigs.
again I should have just started a thread with the question.
